Green Lantern: The New Guardians

Eternal Crisis of the Pantsless Superheroes. Like them or hate, crises are a big part of the DCU. You can discuss them alongside books like Secret Six and other events like Green Lantern: Blackest Night.

I think your right but I love the Blue Lanterns a whole lot. There is something about having eternal hope that makes me really dig this group a lot and makes me dig Saint Walker a lot as well. This issue had me loving him so much. He reminds me a bit of Superman when it comes to his idealism. He's become one of my favorite Lanterns.

Green Lantern: The New Guardians #10
Another solid issue. I love the interactions once again and the art is really growing on me. Next issue looks to be a knockdown drag-out slobber-knocker. I can't wait.

#10 was a decent fight issue. Looking forward to Larfleeze.

Green Lantern: The New Guardians #11
A great issue. Loved the battle between the New Guardians and the Orange Lanterns. The reveal in this issue was an interesting one and I cannot wait for next issue. Loved it.

Yeah, the reveal in #11 caught me by surprise, though I feel like I should've seen it coming.

I'm not sure why I didn't see it coming too although somehow I thought that Sayd was being controlled by Larfleeze and I didn't realize that she wasn't. What do you think will happen when and if she gets out of the control of Larfleeze and realizes what happened to Ganthet?

#12 was meh. If I didn't love Kyle, I'd be close to dropping this book.

Green Lantern: The New Guardians #12
Well, this was a thing that happened. So, Sayd was the culprit behind the rings going to Kyle from all the way back to the first issue. Everyone seems disillusioned about staying together as the New Guardians and they go their own way. Time to bring in a new team of Lanterns that will be led by Kyle. It was okay overall but fairly predictable.

I have to choose on this book. The story was pretty good, same with the art, not blow away by the weaponer now having a huge planet sized space ship. Another guardian being semi evil was meh.

The "team" breaking up. I don't know if I am going to grab the next arc or not.

#0 was decent. I'm a Kyle mark, so I'm gonna stick with it for now. Also, I dig Carol's new duds.

This was okay. I liked Kyle in this and I think Carol's new costume is much better. I didn't like the art in this though.

Green Lantern: The New Guardians #13
So, we got Kyle getting his rage on. Not a bad issue. We learned a bit more about Kyle's history and so now we'll see him taking of the fear dude next. I'm curious to see how Kyle's trials will eventually take him because his ring can now take on blue powers, violet powers and red powers. I'm curious as to how his Green Lantern ring is doing that.

I'm curious as to who stuffed Alex in the fridge, since I don't think Major Force exists in the New 52.

Didn't they leave the GL continuity in tact?

Mostly. But since Captain Atom rebooted, Major Force never existed. This is what happens when you cherry-pick continuity.

if I had to guess, during the blackest night ganthet said that all the rings are basically made the same way and that each would have the ability to make a "Deputy" ring remember? if each were made the same way and have the same "failsafe" in them perhaps it does not really matter what energy is focused thru the ring per say. if at the core they are the same maybe they react to the "default" emotion but still capable of others

Green Lantern: The New Guardians #13

I didn't like this. At all. I thought the art was hideous.

I'm sure that wearing all the rings at once somehow altered his GL ring, and that's why it can channel different energies.

I liked this issue a lot. Kyle seems to have almost all of the emotional spectrum mastered and not a moment too soon considering who he seems be having to face next issue. Also, DAMN!

Green Lantern: New Guardians #15

Meh. I'm really contemplating dropping this book. I'm really only getting it because I get the other GL books.

Kyle seemed slightly out of character. I know he's struggling with the other emotions, but he still seemed off in general.

I am curious about Larfleeze's back story and real name.

And I'm not overly thrilled that they killed off Sayd.

Green Lantern: The New Guardians Annual #1
This was hard to get through. I agree with John Michael and I am contemplating dropping this book. I just haven't liked the direction but I am hopeful it will get better.

Seeing as how it was nothing but a backdoor pilot for Giffen's new "DC's Annihilation" series, I didn't even bother getting it.

The problem was I didn't know that until after I read it. I'm staying away from that book now.

I skipped the annual for the same reasons as Rob.

I really don't know at this point if I'll even bother getting the next issue either. There's other stuff, particularly pre reboot, that I want to read more.
