The Avengers (SPOILER WARNING)

You know... They're like TV, but longer. And generally more finite.

Saw it for the 3rd time today. Still got many more viewings to beat 9 though. I got one more in me, at a cheapie theater.

I have high hopes for all the next marvel films, IM3, Cap 2, ect, but I dont think ANY comic movie will beat Avengers for a long time. Including Avengers 2. If there is a perfect pure comic movie this is it.

So, I actually saw this opening weekend, and while the movie did have its faults, as pointed out by others in this thread, I found them pretty forgivable. Really, my only major gripe was the lack of War Machine. I understand Don Cheadle's probably busy with his new show and whatnot, but if would have been pretty damn neat to see a quick cameo of him in New York - a perfect one would have been him in armor flying lead in a squad of F-35s tearing shit up.

As awesome as that is. I own all of the movies on Blu-Ray as it is, but if I didn't .

Plus I don't really like movies in the special collectors tin, I get a little anal about all my movies fitting on the shelves.

So, I went to see the movie again yesterday. It was my 10th time. The movie was just as awesome.

Yes and yes. It is cool in theory, but I also already own all the movies on Blu-ray. And I hate special collectors cases. They're just awkward an annoying.

Bats, you're in luck!

Sweet, I may actually get that elusive 2nd theater viewing after all. I also hear that they're stressing to stay after the credits. Don't know if that's just for the Thanos/shawarma scenes, or if there's some new teaser footage. Iron Man 3 perhaps? :D

^The news it was coming back made me unbelievably happy.

I went to see it tonight. It was the 11th time. God damn I love this movie. I still got goosebumps, and I still got misty eyed from pure joy at the Hulk smash bit. I can't wait to own this movie!

Blu-ray out tomorrow!

Walmart is having this awesome package deal with the Blu-ray and a new Avengers: Season One graphic novel! It's written by Peter David too so chances are it'll be good. $25 if you preorder online, $39.99 in the store. Sounds like a really smart way to get comics in the hands of non-comic readers on Marvel's part. Just a heads up. :)

I ended up getting this bad boy for a good price:

Picked this over the Walmart Blu-ray/graphic novel pack for the digital copy. This way I have it on my iPad and phone as well. Looks amazing on both. :)

After watching the movie finally again for the second time, I love it even more! Everyone does a damn good job in their roles, but man does Tom Hiddleston OWN. Scarlett did a solid job as Widow, but Hiddleston really acts circles around her in that interrogation scene.

This movie and Marvel Cinematic Universe as a whole has set quite the bar for superheroes on the big screen. Plain solo movies are fine, but I love the fact that these films all operate in the same universe. It's the best of both worlds. And just like the comic universes we all grew up loving. :)

 I come from a land down under!

I think it's mostly to do with school holidays. Both Thor and Avengers came out earlier here as I think our school holidays start a bit earlier than yours around that time. That's my theory anyway. Then I think the DVDs get realeased a certain period later which means they come out earlier too.

It's fun getting to see these things a bit earlier than you guys but then I'm careful not to say too much so as not to spoil them for you all.

I loved it on bluray- it's not excellent- but Marvel's best along with Iron Man 1... but a bit more entertaining.

COULSON LIVES!!!

http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=41604

"I just want to say because I won't have another chance to ask this -- 'Have you heard of a Life Model Decoy?'" asked Gregg. "I don't know if you've read the theories from the people on Twitter, but there's this guy called the Vision. I don't know if you saw the UK version of the DVD, but the blade wasn't coming out of his chest. There's a tesseract!

"There was never going to be a 'S.H.I.E.L.D.' show without Agent Phil Coulson!" said Feige, who appeared behind Whedon, wearing a COULSON LIVES shirt.

"He's headlining the S.H.I.E.L.D. show and always was." said Whedon.

Loeb confirmed Clark Gregg is the first member cast in Whedon's "S.H.I.E.L.D."
