Why did we give in, damnit?

I skimmed it and looked at my 3 comics and said, eh why not.

Damn you Marvel!

So far (and who knows this could change) apparently all the tie-ins will only be in Avengers and X-Men team books, and not even all of them will tie-in. So no AvX 3 or 4 issue minis for every character. It seems like the tie-ins will stay at a manageable level unlike previous events. Hopefully.

Yeah the Augmented Reality extras stuff. Not sure if you can access those on the digital book I didn't try. The way I look at it, buying it in print gives you the best value because you get the print book, digital copy, and the Nova Infinite comic.

How was the Nova book? Was it Richard Rider or someone else?

I really liked it, I don't think they said if it was Richard or not, he looked small but CA knew who he was so I am guessing it is RR.

Did we? From what I remember from skimming the book, CA never called him by name. He just called him Nova.

In issue #1, I don't remember Captain America calling Nova Richard Rider. He just called him Nova. Am I remembering that right? If so, we don't know for sure that the Nova that fell to Earth was actually Richard Rider, right? Isn't the Nova Corps still around so couldn't it be a different Nova?

From what I've been hearing, it is a new Nova and not Richard Rider. =/

Round 2
Lots of fighting in this one. I liked it well enough. Was expecting what happened at the end to happen but I liked it overall. I'm curious enough to see where this all goes.

There were a few moments that made me "whoa" outloud. The sheild against Scotts head being one of the major ones. I really am glad I placed my crotchety old "I hate events" attitde to the side for this one.

When you have Scott go up against Steve Rogers, it's not even a contest. Steve will wipe the floor with him but yeah. The shield to the head was something that made me do a double take. It was pretty awesome though. The magnetic fastball special was pretty damn awesome. I think I'm siding with the X-Men.

The continuity seems a little funky in issue #2. Haven't we seen the Avengers jump out of the Helicarrier in other books? Here they are attacked before they can get off. Also, where the hell did Storm come from? And Hope seems like a completely different character since last issue. Granted, the whole Phoenix Force thing can help explain that, but still.

1- New Avengers they were jumping off, not sure if all of them were or just Luke Cage, but the side stories seem to be the issue not AvX, just look at the Nova infinite book, not even the same avengers are huddled around him.

2- She was on her way over there. Again New Avengers they showed her taking off before the rest of the Avengers.

1- I just don't know. Scott has always been shown to be on par with Steve when it comes to tactics and planning. I wouldn't give one a leg up on the other.

2- I am siding with the X-men as well, the Avengers are jumping the gun and going off half cocked and that never ends well.

Scott is good at planning and tactics but we're talking about the ultimate soldier. There are very few people who could go toe to toe with Captain America. I mean, think about how debatable it is when you put Cap up against Batman. I just don't see Scott being able to come out on top against someone like Steve.

I'm with the X-Men mainly because I think the Avengers are acting a little too holier than thou. I wish that they would have worked more with the X-Men than the other way around.

Agreed,

As for Captain America I would put him Batman level, but I think Scott is just as good, I mean look at even in this issue him suing Caps shield to reflect a blast to take out multiple people. But it comes down to writers I think.

Now here is my issue, they really need to lay down how Scott's Powers work. If he can blast people bigger and stronger the Capt. American through walls, why couldn't he today? Is it the Shield absorbing the blast with the super metal or what here? Hell Scott blasted him back last issue, how could be push through it this time? Look I have walked in the ocean before, doing that while getting hit with a concussive beam seems a bit much to me. They need to lock down the power and not nerf or nuke it as needed.

Quicksilver.....I still can't stand the guy, I mean for a book about people that are jumping the gun here, he doesn't even try to be logical goes right to the Daddy punch.

Hope.....Well she is showing some Pheonix Powers but I still don't buy it's her.

So....... Lay down your bets here people

1- Hope She is the simple answer to this story, even looks a bit like Jean, and this is a event build on Bendis events so simple is the key. 2:1
2-Wanda She started all of this in Dissasembled, minor clues that it is her, and would be a nice twist 10:1
3-Quinton Quire Has been shown to have used the Pheonix Force in X-men The End (or something like that) 50:1
4- Jean Grey Why not being her back, Phoenix resurrection or Hope channels Selena's powers, old favorite returns and we get some Soap Opera Drama 25:1
5- Deadpool Well if he dies next issue, he has to come back so why not? 1000:1
6- Squirrel girl- Why? Screw you thats why 10x10:1

AvX #2

I liked this issue it was a non-stop action romp. The magnetic fast ball special was badass! Cyke vs Cap is really becoming a hell of a rivalry. I loved how Cap dented Scott's visor with that shield hit. Logan is starting to get on my nerves, totally being a traitor to his family. Thor and company vs the Phoenix Force next issue will be crazy. What I loved about this was that it seems like we got a big "final fight" out the way already. That tells me this story will be a bit different from previous events where it's all just leading up to one big final fight. I'm sure we'll get something like that at the end but this time feels like it'll be different.

Also, I wonder where Hope is headed. I feel like she may end up a red-herring in this. Scarlet Witch definitely seems like a good candidate to host the Phoenix but even she may be too obvious. Here's hoping Jeannie Grey is resurrected. :)

I will get this in trade when it comes out as I like heroes fighting each other. I think I'm sold on Squirrel Girl. It's the swerve nobody will see coming. Still, I think it might be Aunt May. Hell, she was the herald of Galactus at one point so she has the prerequisite to have a lot of power.

Excuse me but that happened in a Hostess snack cake advertising campaign free comic. where the "Golden Oldie" leads galactus to planet sized snack cakes and is only a dream, so did not actually happen. Thank you and good day.

(You read that in his voice, didn't you)

Aunt May would be a nice twist.

Those advertising books always were awesome. I still have a Captain America one about asthma, that I got as a kid. It still cracks me up seeing him freak out until he gets his inhaler .

I now want that. I'll have to do some research on that and see the cover and whatnot.
