Where do you buy your books from?

How much does your collection worth? Whose to blame for the state of the industry? Who'll win in a battle between Azrael the cat and Zabu? We don't know at the moment, but you can try and find your answer here.

Where do you buy your books from?

Postby Mass » Tue Apr 30, 2013 12:52 pm

This could be a two part question really -

Where do you REGULARLY buy your books from

and

What and where is your local Comic Book Store?

--------------------------------------------------------

We have two here in Liverpool UK, "Forbidden Planet", and "Worlds Apart", but i tend to shop at WA most as its a much better store.

Occassionally i'll get issues i've missed on eBay from "A Place in Space Comics" down in the south of England.

I go to Midtown Comics in Times Square. It's close to Port Authority where I take the bus home and I like it there. I do like to check out Forbidden Planet which is near Union Square in NYC as well. They carry things that Midtown doesn't and I like a change of pace every now and again. I might even check out another store in Brooklyn during free comic book day because Midtown's Times Square location isn't really that great when bringing a stroller along due to the stairs you have to climb to get to the store. There are a good amound in New York that you could check out and be happy with when it comes to comic book shops.

Acme Comics in Normal Illinois. But when I start the new job I will be going to Killian Enterprises in Springfield.

I mostly buy trades now and am good trade waiting. But I buy at SuperFly. Its an hour north of me but hey its SuperFly. They take care of me and "make" me buy books that are good and out of my comfort Zone..

However, near by my are about 3 or 4 shops that are 15 mins away that Ill search throw if I need a back issue. Rockin Rooster, Up Up and Away, and Queen City Comics.

I use Superfly for special orders...but I've gone mostly digital now.

I'll visit Midtown for signings and I'll pick up some stuff while I'm there.
