I am too. I could possibly get to go again. I mean, my work technically has to let me put in for leave once a year and these dates fall in exactly a year after the leave I'm on now.

I will be there next year. Mark my words I will not miss another C2E2

I honestly think I would have enjoyed spending my birthday weekend up there with you guys rather then at my birthday celebration. So next year it is on.

It'll be in the West Building, where it was held in '11. Looks like they'll be doubling their floor space.

It says the 2013 dates and lists the North building....I am confused.

3 Day Tickets on sale right now.

Kevin Smith Announced as a guest.....if you pay extra. 10 bucks isn't bad in general (for general seating, it goes higher) but it SHOULD be something that's free and part of the show. I see more nickel and diming coming up as more events/guests are announced.

I doubt the additional price has anything to do with the convention itself, but with the fact that Kevin Smith doesn't really make any appearances without selling tickets. That's kind of his bread and butter now. That's what he does when he tours with the Smodcast. He did the exact same "An Evening With Kevin Smith" show at Star Wars Celebration, but the prices were higher since you didn't have to have an SWC ticket to attend.

Basically, instead of doing autographs and pictures for money, he's charging for his one-man play. At least he's not sitting behind a table looking like he'd rather swallow Draino.

At NYCC they had a Comic Book Men panel and later that night at a local theater they had another show where they charged for tickets. At C2E2 I'm not sure if there is a theater he likes close enough so he just uses the convention center to put on his show.

Maybe its more Kevin Smiths move then C2E2 (maybe he needs money after some of his movies bombed), but C2E2 is still promoting him as their guest and attraction not "Kevin Smith just happens to be there at the same time so go see him". So for the money people pay just to get in I'd like to see general admission free and just pay for upgrades.

Maybe I just have to many good thoughts of standing in line for 3 hours to listen to him talk previously for free. And he never seemed bored or like he didnt want to be there. He was always really funny (in his own crude way and stood and walked around, didn't sit behind a desk whenever I saw him) and once Jason Mewes showed up and I made my way up to the table and got him to autograph this big 16 inch Jay figure and make it out to my now wife.

It's the same thing they do every year it's their later night entertainment you can get a ticket for. You had to purchase a ticket to see Paton Oswald. I can't remember the entertainment last year. The nerdist cast actual cast maybe But it's a show they provide that's cheaper if you were to go to a club to see it. I think 10 is not bad to see a good show.
I don't see it as buckle and dimeing. All of their panels are free with your entrance price. This is a one prominent event you can buy access too.

I'm with Jon. Also, when is C2E2 going to include free all I can eat Lou Malnati's pizza with my ticket?

We going for personal attacks now? You going to tell me what show I can or can't like? Classy.

The difference is though is that the VIP was upgrade. Not a requirement. I could of seen the B.C. panel without paying extra. Kevin Smith requires extra payment to see him. Its not optional.

Really I don't see the controversy in thinking it could be a nice free add on to people already spending 55 bucks or more to get in. Am I going to end up spending the ten bucks anyway? Sure. Its a good deal. Will it be funny and worth going? Yeap. I saw Patton Oswalt and paid the money for that and it was worth it.

Its more having to pay 10 (or 20 or 35) bucks for something ive seen 3 times for free (at crappy cons). That Kevin Smith maybe is more of a "get up at 5am to stand in line for tickets ala John Cusack" type event not a premium attraction.

I kind of agree that the whole paying extra money just to see a show is kind of stupid. I mean the whole point of cons is the showings and such. So your basically paying to go see the shows and such, and then you're being asked to pay more, just for one show. But I'm also not going to be buying C2E2 tickets until I know whats all going to be there.
