Brian K Vaughn's SAGA

Dear comic book readers. The Goon, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and a bunch of Walking Dead need your attention and care. Love them tender.

The Will is going to rank up there with Spike and Boba Fett as my favorite bounty hunters.

The whole universe BKV is making is great, and I really do think that the will is going to do something nasty soon, but I don't think he is going to be evil...evil.

There's so much weird stuff in this book, but what really holds it together are the little moments of realness between the two main characters. Those moments are what keeps this series grounded and keep it from flying off the handles into dinosaur-dildo-land.

Yeah well Hazel's commentary certainly gives us the impression. I still suspect Alana and Marko may not be too long for this world/universe.

#4 was the best issue yet in my opinion. I really enjoyed it a lot. Even the letters page was fun.

Yes! Half the enjoyment from this series comes from the responses to fan mail

Still really enjoying this book, glad I decided to pick it up.

#5 was good. Fiona really got to cut loose with the fight scenes. Anyone else have a feeling The Stalk is only mostly dead?

Nope, I think she's 100% dead judging by BKV's comment about Fiona's reaction to the script for the issue and the killing off of The Stalk. I really enjoyed this issue. I thought it well and truly clicked.

#6 was great. I'm a little bummed about the break, but I'll deal. I don't think I want anyone else but Fiona on art for this series.

Totally agree - disappointed by the break but loving the book and really happy there's going to be a lot more of it. A break every now and then is just fine if it means the book continues for some time. There's such a left of centre feel to this book that did put me off at first but I'm growing to like that attitude a lot (some things still grate on me a little) - one of the things I really like is how magic plays a big part in this sci fi universe which, of course, is the reason for a lot of the weird feeling to it.

Saga #7

Great to have it back! And it kicks off again with a bang. We're starting to find out more about the universe and this neverending war the main characters have been involved in. And that giant thing Marko and his mother run into - well that's about as disgusting and grotesque as you could get!!!

I finally read the first issue today. I enjoyed it quite a bit. I'm going to pick up the first trade really soon.

Saga #8

I want that cover as a poster - it's just beautiful. Fiona Staples is a very good cover artist. I'm still not totally into her interiors, mainly due to not totally liking the digital backgrounds.

Anyway, this issue was excellent and now, after getting used to the odd, almost absurd, nature of this universe, I'm totally enjoying the journey and exploration that BKV is taking us on. You get the distinct feeling this series/story is going to go for a long, long time.

Saga #9

Another great issue and it is nice to see they can carry a side story as well as the main one. I really like the Will and his lance. That was a cool scene, the "I've never killed anyone before....You Still haven't" lines were a bit played out, but that is a pretty minor issue.

There is nothing I don't adore about this series. I'm really interested to see where it goes. I'm kind of hoping that it doesn't get like I've been told Y:The Last Man was and there is a huge chunk towards the middle of the series that is just filler/pointless. The focus in the writing has been so fantastic. It never slows down and I just don't want that momentum to ever slow down.

Saga #10

No, not Lying Cat!!!

Good issue. Nice to see Izabel back. BKV is doing such a great job of slowly building a big cast of characters. I think his timing is excellent.

I'm ignoring the whole Apple thing, I would be annoyed if I was a user but at least there is a work around.

Now pertaining to that, what causes the images on the robot's head screens?

Another great issue it says a lot where they can have a really good issue with none of the main characters showing up in the plot. But the best part...The seal in waders, I have no idea why but I was amused by that.

That little character was cute!

I thought issue #12 was great. I loved the tension through the whole conversation between Robot and Heist especially when I felt from the beginning that Alana and co. were already there.
