I still don't care for the 1959 stuff. I'm glad we only saw it a couple of times this issue.
Deodato's art is just fantastic. I'm glad he's on the book.
I really wish that Hawkeye and Spider-Woman were on this team.
I don't care for what they did to Mockingbird. I hope she doesn't start developing super powers.
I can't wait until the Fear Itself crap is over and Daredevil joins the team.

I really enjoyed this. Outside of Bendis using her I've never read anything with Squirrel Girl in it (at least to my recollection). I really liked her here. Deodato's art is just gorgeous. Oh, and I still LOVE LOVE LOVE Spidey's FF suit.

Agree that Iron Fist would be a better pure martial artist than Wolverine, heck he might be the best in comics pound for pound, but this was more like a friendly sparring match so I wouldn't put too much stock in it. Plus there was a "no claws, no fists" stipulation...not to mention Danny saying he was going at a 3.

Aussiemandias wrote:Actually it was the fact that it was a friendly sparring match that made me say that. I'd see Iron Fist winning that kind of match every time - hands down. I think Danny was pretty embarassed anyway so that's probably a real reaction! Just another case, I guess, of Wolverine having to be better than everyone else even if it doesn't totally make sense.

I do think they should have noticed this and maybe not print the 9/11 stuff in this issue.

This was good. I think Bendis did a good job of laying down Wonder Man's reasons for being pissed at the Avengers and wanting them disbanded. Maybe some of the other "Revengers" motivations should have been touched on too though because I don't really see why some of them would be there. Also, D-Man!

Arsenal wrote:I thought the annual was very well done and a good read. Very standard first meet up fight, and the Nw Avengers had to go down or the "true" Avengers fight would have no weight. I have to say I alway thought that Ms Marvel was a high power then Wonder Man but that goes back to my original thought.
Also Iron Fist and Squirrel Girl were gone so that explain how the Revengers won.

I'm sure Iron Fist was there - he just didn't figure much in the fight. I actually thought it was pretty reasonable the Revengers won that fight (even without the plotting reasons you rightly point out) - they've got some real heavy hitters - however I think Thing probably went down a bit too easy. I can definintely buy Wonder Man beating Ms Marvel though - he is an absolute powerhouse.
