Green Lantern: The New Guardians

Eternal Crisis of the Pantsless Superheroes. Like them or hate, crises are a big part of the DCU. You can discuss them alongside books like Secret Six and other events like Green Lantern: Blackest Night.

I am probably dropping this as well. I want to finish the arc, but I honestly I don't care that much about the story. There is so much that could be in this book. But there just is nothing.

Here's my thing with Green Lantern. A bad issue of ANY Green Lantern is still better than some of the other books that are out there for me. I just want this to pick up a bit.

I liked this. A lot. I think with all of the GL books, #16 has really turned things around.

Another good issue. Again not sure how they got to this point but I liked seeing the First Lantern mess around with Kyle's memories. It was quite awesome. I can't wait to see more of this and I'm liking the First Lantern.

I agree but man I have no clue what is going on, I hate cross over books where you have to read all the tie ins to follow the story.

I do like Kyle's new powers and have always liked him better as a stand out lantern rather then just another GL, making him Ion and now the White Lantern is good for his character.

I read all the GL books except for Red Lanterns and I don't even understand how the book started this way. The only thing I can see is that the First Lantern can control the entire emotional spectruim and somehow he feeds off of the emotional spectrum to make himself more powerful. At least that is how I see it. Unless someone can come up with another theory, that is what I'm going with.

Poor Kyle. Only three major relationships, and now two don't exist and the other still ends with Alex in the fridge.

Green Lantern: New Guardians #17

I did not care for this. At all. I hated the art. Also, Kyle seemed way too eager to just go with Alex being alive.

This was my last issue, I just don't care enough at this point. The whole First Lantern thing is boring me, and isn't being explained or presented well at all. I will stick with regular GL for now, but unless the new team really does something great I might drop it as well.

Green Lantern: The New Guardians
What the hell is the point of this? No. Seroriously. Someone tell me. I want to know what the point of this is but what is the First Lantern's deal? What is he about? Are we actually going to see him fight or just the aftermath where he's trying to feed off emotions. I want to see how this ends and I'll give the new creative team an issue or two but I am on the DC bubble dammit!

Green Lantern: The New Guardians #19
Well. This was pretty okay. Another Sinestro vs Kyle issue for the most part with Sinestro calling Kyle "Alley Rat". Not bad. The "WTF" moment or moments I guess would be Simon wearing the white power ring for a second and everyone trying to bring back Sinestro's planet. Then you see Sinestro leave at the end of the issue with his yellow power battery and revenge on his mind. Again, this was okay but of the three books, this just okay.

I liked this a lot. I get the sense of a modern version of "Hard Traveling Heroes" with Kyle and the new Guardians. Even the art has a sort of Neal Adams feel to it. I love the art and the writing and I'm excited for more of this.

This book continues to be pretty good. Although what happened at the end of the latest issue really bummed me out.
