Green Lantern Corps

Eternal Crisis of the Pantsless Superheroes. Like them or hate, crises are a big part of the DCU. You can discuss them alongside books like Secret Six and other events like Green Lantern: Blackest Night.

I wonder if the Guardians of the Universe could become the real big bad of the Universe that would somehow bring the remaining members of the different corps together?

I think it's inevitable the Guardians are heading that way and have been for a long time. The fact they think they know what's good for everyone makes them no better than Sinestro when you think about it. What's the difference? Maybe they used to be benevolant (and benevolant dictators aren't necessarily a bad thing) but I think that's pretty much gone now.

Green Lantern Corps #11
And we have ourselves on gigantic battle on our hands folks. This issue was freaking awesome. I love how Guy and John deal with the Alpha Lanterns and I like how one of them is starting to think that what they are doing is not the right way. Also, I so want the Guardians to get their asses handed to them. In the worst way. I can't wait for the next issue. This was awesome.

Yeah, #11 was good. I dug John thinking outside the box on how to deal with the Alphas. And it's nice to see Salaak not being the usual "yes man."

Salaak was awesome. "I believe you know where to find me Boodikka. Salaak out." I loved that line.

Yeah, I think he's had enough.

#11 was good fun. I kept thinking that this is well and truly war now and there's no way out of this for some of the GLs unless the Guardians admit that the Alpha Lanterns have gone too far. I also liked Varix starting to question what they were doing and also the point that some of the Alpha Lanterns thinking wasn't that different to John's.

I'll be curious to see what happens when the Third Army comes around. I want to know what the Alpha Lanterns will do then.

Green Lantern Corps #12
Well, the battle was pretty much what I expected it to be. I kind of saw the ending but it made for a good read. I can't wait to see what happens when the Guardians finally show their hand to the Universe.

#12 was good. I'm a little surprised by all of the Alphas getting offed. One or two, sure, but all of them was surprising.

I was actually sad to see them all offed like that as well. I liked a few of those characters before they became Alpha Lanterns.

I didn't expect them all to be killed at all. That was a big surprise to me. I have wondered for a while if they could survive what was done to them being reversed and I guess I got that answer. Still, it was a big shock. And Varix blowing his own head off - wow.

The Guardians well and truly look like bad guys on that last page.

Green Lantern Corps #0
A great issue and I really liked the origin story of Guy. Different from what it was but very satisfying. I loved the introduction of Guy Gardner to Hal Jordan. Pretty humorous.

Yeah, #0 was good. Although with the new wrinkles in Guy's origin I'd like to see if/how John's has been revamped.

Good point. I loved how all of Guy's siblings were also a GG. Gloria Gardner and Gerard Gardner. Kind of cool. I also liked the Gardner's history with the Baltimore Police Department.

I LOVED #0. Tomasi has made Guy my favorite GL, and this issue was more awesomeness.

And Pasarin's art was gorgeous!

The issue was enjoyable (although I can't help thinking I've seen it all in a movie somewhere) and loved Guy calling Hal Harold at the end. One question though, was it necessary to change Guy's origin? Did that have to happen?

Oh and one major criticism - I think they're really needed to be an explanation why that ring suddenly appeared for Guy.

Was it necessary? Probably not but it was still a cool origin and I don't mind the new origin. I am curious to see if John Stewart's has changed as well though.

Yeah, are they going with the 3600 to 7200 Lanterns, 2 per sector, like pre-Flashpoint? Because Guy was Hal's alternate. If they're going with there have always been 2 Lanterns per sector, then who was Hal's partner who got killed?

Yeah. I just think it was an important point that was completely lacking.

I remember in the issue that Hal introduces him as his sector partner so it seems that they were going with the 7200 members with 2 to a sector.

GL Corps #13

Disappointed to see Vandor killed (I assume he is) - I liked him. The piece of information about Mogo was really interesting but I suspect it's just Guardians bullshit to keep John preoccupied.

Green Lantern #13
This was good. On the surface, it almost seemed like an average issue of the Green Lantern Corps with the Guardians sending their troops to do good but you know that all of this is just setting them up for the fall. I'm not sure about Mogo. This could be a way to bring him back and maybe the Guardians are worried about that. Mogo is powerful without the ring. With the ring, he could be a force to reckon with and the Guardians probably want to control the situation. I do hope that this could mark the return of Mogo. That would be awesome and I have a feeling the GLs will need him when all is said and done.
