‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ Trailer: 10 Must-See Moments!

bannerAfter a leak of the UK version, Marvel Studios was forced to officially release the first trailer for Avengers: Age of Ultron a week before it was to debut during Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

We at PoP! have gone through the Age of Ultron trailer with a fine-toothed comb to spotlight the 10 Must-See Moments we don’t want you to miss, PoP!ulation! Enjoy!

1. Up All Night to Get Loki (0:28)

Considering the size and scope of Avengers: Age of Ultron, Joss Whedon didn’t want to take any chances, and made sure to shoehorn in Tom Hiddleston and fan-favorite character Loki into as many scenes as possible. If it ain’t broke!

2. Team Building Exercise (0:34)

In the trailer, the Avengers team seems to be enjoying a casual hang, maybe even a date night, and everyone’s invited, even Don Cheadle! Only thing is, the War Machine actor forgot which superhero he was supposed to be playing.

3. Show of Force (0:52)

Ultron poses a worldwide threat to the Avengers team, and this portion of the trailer features numerous ground forces holding off what we can only assume is an army of asshole androids. CORRECTION: Apparently this image is of the Ferguson, MO Police Force. WHOOPS.

4. I AM GROOT, and I Speak for the Trees (0:58)

As the breakout character from the summer’s biggest film, Groot has become the new Loki. Expect Groot to be in every Marvel Studios movie from here on out. In this scene, it seems like Groot is about the turn off the lights and howl like a wolf. SORRY BRUCE!

5. Family Ties (1:04)

Previously unannounced, but Bryan Cranston will rejoin his Godzilla co-stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen in Age of Ultron in an undisclosed role. Could Heisenberg be playing Marvel Studios’ version of the Master of Magnetism?

6. The Origin of Ultron (1:12)

Ultron’s comic book canon origin is that he was created by Hank Pym, aka Ant-Man/Giant Man, but in Age of Ultron, it seems the self-aware robot is a product of Stark Technologies. In this flashback scene, we see a young Tony Stark testing the beta-version of a more humanoid Ultron.

Less Than Zero

7. YO DAWG! (1:23)

8.  THE PRECIOUS! (1:33)

Andy Serkis makes a brief cameo in the Age of Ultron trailer, in an as-yet-unannounced role. If he is indeed doing motion capture for computer-generated creation, looks like the digital artists are having a little fun with Mr. Serkis after some of his comments downplaying the role of CGI in his performances.

9. Fast Food (1:47)

Aaron Taylor-Johnson will put his own spin on the character of legendary Avenger Quicksilver after the same Marvel character appeared in this year’s X-Men: Days of Future Past. Blink and you’ll miss him, but check out Evan Peters reprising his role in this monumental movie moment!

10. No Strings Attached (1:57)

The Age of Ultron trailer is brilliantly scored by a haunting version of “I’ve Got No Strings” from parent company Disney’s Pinocchio. It seems as if the movie’s big bad Ultron has a conscience after all.

Did we miss anything, PoP!ulation? What was your favorite moment of the trailer? Let us know in the comments!

Avengers: Age of Ultron, starring Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, James Spader, and directed by Joss Whedon assembles in theaters May 1st, 2015.
