Sony released the first full trailer for Amazing Spider-Man 2 Thursday morning, and boy, oh boy, is Spidey in for some overtime next year, set to face more supervillains than any big screen superhero before him.
We at PoP! have gone through the new trailer frame-by-frame with a fine-toothed comb to spotlight the 10 Must-See Moments we don’t want you to miss, PoP!ulation! Enjoy!
1. ON BROADWAY! (0:16)
Seems like the producers couldn’t pass up an opportunity to cross promote with the much-maligned Great White Way version of the webslinger in this shot of Spidey doing police car squats in Times Square.
2. Vin Diesel: Smarter Than Us? (0:22)
Forget Spidey and The Avengers crossing paths on the big screen! Looks like we’re in for some DC vs. Marvel level blockbuster throwdowns in the future!
3. The Clone Saga? (0:34)
Blink and you’ll miss him, but Parks and Rec‘s Jean-Ralphio/Andrew Garfield doppelganger Ben Schwartz makes a brief cameo in this street sequence. Could he be gearing up to play another Ben in a future sequel?
4. New York’s Finest (0:37)
If you look closely at this carnage (no pun) caused by what we can only assume was the Rhino, the squad cars read “Chicago Police” on their side panels. Look even closer, and you’ll realize Marc Webb just used footage from The Blues Brothers!
5. Aunt May’s Secret Past (0:55)
In this shot of an Oscorp desktop, it appears as if Peter isn’t the only Parker hiding something…
6. To Infinity…and BEYOND! (1:15)
A brief glimpse of Oscorp’s Research and Development department implies Osborn has a few other tricks up his sleeve.
7. The Man Behind the (Goblin) Mask (1:33)
We’re treated to our first look at Chris Cooper as Spider-Man’s greatest adversary, Norman Osborn!
8. Rhino-Zord (1:36)
The trailer provides us with a better look at Paul Giamatti’s high-tech Rhino suit, only previously shown in pre-fx set shots and in a recent poster image. Is that Andrew Garfield attempting to escape the Rhino’s clutches?
9. It’s Electric (Boogie Oogie Oogie) (1:45)
Is Jamie Foxx’s Electro primed to go Super-Saiyan on Spidey?
10. Stan The Man (1:47)
Teenagers have some weird stuff on their walls. Is this going to be Stan Lee’s sole appearance in Amazing Spider-Man 2? He IS getting up there in years. He can’t be on set for EVERY Marvel movie.
